Marie Wade is a sales agent in Morgan’s office, where she helps clients purchase new insurance policies and provides ongoing support for their existing coverage. She especially enjoys working with commercial and life insurance, though she’s well-versed in nearly every line of insurance.

Marie began her career in the insurance industry in Virginia in 2000, and since 2009 she has consistently sold and serviced policies for clients across multiple lines. In 2025, she was recognized for her outstanding sales of life insurance policies. But for Marie, success isn’t about closing a sale, it’s about making sure her clients truly understand their coverage. She sees herself as an educator first, taking the time to listen, answer questions, and help people make informed decisions about protecting what matters most to them.

Marie has deep roots in the Wilmington area. She lived in Rocky Point from 2002 to 2009 before returning to Virginia, and in June 2023 she saw the chance to come back to her “happy place.” She made the move to Southport/Oak Island and hasn’t looked back since.

Outside of work, Marie can usually be found at the beach with her boyfriend and their dog, Bailey, or taking part in activities at Beach Road Church, where she’s an active member. She also loves traveling to Virginia, West Virginia, and California to visit family. When the weather doesn’t cooperate for a beach day, you’ll likely find her in the kitchen baking, with a Hallmark movie playing in the background. In fact, she starts planning her Christmas baking months in advance, and already knows exactly which family member will receive which favorite treat.

A football fan in the fall, Marie roots for the Kansas City Chiefs. Her favorite comfort food is her mom’s spaghetti with pepperoni added to the sauce, a recipe she still makes for family and friends. And when she’s craving a great cup of coffee, you’ll find her at Kozy Bean Café in Southport.

Marie’s approach to life and work can be summed up in her personal motto: “You’ve gotta have grace, grit, and a little bit of sugar.”
